Requesting Court Reporter Transcripts for Juvenile Proceedings

Juvenile Court proceedings are confidential, requiring court reporter transcripts to be requested through a separate process. To request a Court Reporter Transcript for a Juvenile proceeding, complete and submit the appropriate form pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code § 827 to Juvenile Court:

  • If you are a party or entity authorized to inspect and/or receive copies of a juvenile case file, complete the Declaration in Support of Request to Inspect and/or Copy Juvenile Court Records Without a Court Order (L-0673).
  • If you are not a party or an entity authorized to access a juvenile case file, complete the Petition for Access to Juvenile Delinquency Case File or a Living Child’s Juvenile Dependency Case File (JV-570). The JV-570 requires the Juvenile Court to authorize access to the juvenile case file, including a court reporter transcript.

Requests for Court Reporter Transcripts for a juvenile case file that is sealed require a Petition for Access to Juvenile Delinquency Case File or a Living Child’s Juvenile Dependency Case File (JV-570) to be completed. If requesting a court reporter transcript for a juvenile case file that is sealed, the JV-570 must be completed.
