Santa Ana- The Orange County Superior Court Clerk’s Office public service windows and telephone lines will be open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., effective May 1, 2006, announced Presiding Judge Nancy Wieben Stock.
In September 2003, due to the State’s financial crisis and its impact on the court budget in 2002-2003, the Court was forced to reduce the Clerk’s public service windows and telephone lines by one hour. The public windows were closed at 4:00 p.m. each day so that Court staff, significantly reduced due to a long hiring freeze and other cutbacks, could work on case back logs and catch up with correspondence and filing without the need for overtime.
“Service to the public is a top priority of the Court. I’m pleased that adequate staffing at the Court has been restored so that we are able to return to normal hours of operation for the public service windows and telephone lines,” said Judge Stock.
She added, “The Court’s website, www.occourts.org, also provides information and services such as on-line payment for traffic citations, links to self-help sites, information about jury service and Small Claims Court, and answers to frequently asked questions on a variety of court matters.”
