Limited/Unlimited Civil

Limited Civil courts hear matters where the dollar amount in dispute or value of the property does not exceed $25,000, Civil Harassments, most Unlawful Detainer cases, and all other matters which are designated by statute as limited civil cases. Unlimited Civil courts hear all other matters including writs of mandate, voter registration, and cases that involve the legality of any tax, impost, assessment, toll, or municipal fine.
